Ever since I knew about the NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette (€30), I knew I had to get one. I never tried contouring before and I really wanted to, so I thought that this palette would be great. I also wanted to find some good highlighters which was another reason why I wanted to get one.

This palette has a total of 8 shades. I use the 1st (Ice Queen) and the 4th (Nectar) to highlight. Sometimes I would use them separately or even mix them together. I personally prefer the 4th shade. I use the 3rd shade (Cream) to set my under eyes- it’s a yellowy colour but don’t worry- it doesn’t really show up as yellow, I find that it makes me look healthier. I think the 2nd (Soft Light) could be used as a setting powder but I like to use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder instead although I have never tried this one.

The last 4 shades in the palette are the contour shades but since I’m very fair I use the lightest one which is the 7th shade (Sculpt) although I will try and experiment with the darker shades- even if it could be an ultimate fail!

I find that all pans are very pigmented (even though I haven’t used all shades, I’ve swatched them all) and the ones that I’ve used all blend effortlessly! You can either buy the empty palette and pick the shades that you prefer to customize it or buy it with the shades like I did. Another plus side to this palette is that since the pans come out, if one finishes you can buy it separately instead of having to buy the full palette again. The names of the pans are on the back of the palette.

This palette is worth the price as the colours are pigmented (like mentioned above), well- sized, refillable (and so customizable). However, I find that some shades tend to be a bit messy (as can be seen in the image above) but it doesn’t really bother me that much.

I bought mine with the shades already in it but apparently it’s different to some of them so here are the shades:

  • Ice Queen
  • Soft Light
  • Cream
  • Nectar
  • Tan
  • Toffee
  • Sculpt
  • Hollow

Here are some swatches of the 8 shades:
