Due to the festive season, my red lip products have been used more and more. I love a good red lip and I’ve been wearing them a lot recently. So much that I picked 5 of my favourite lip products to share with you.
Recently, I picked up ‘Russian Red‘ ($17) from Mac. It’s a very intense bluish-red and has a matte finish. I wouldn’t say that it dries out your lips however it is obviously not a moisturising or hydrating product. This is such a stunning colour.
The darkest red lipstick I own is from Rimmel’s Kate Moss collection, and it’s in the shade 107 (£5.49). I love this colour and find it the perfect colour for fall. It has a beautiful wine red colour. The lipsticks in this collection have a matte finish. This was one of the first red lipsticks I bought so it will always have a special place in my heart. I feel like everyone should own this lipstick or at least a lipstick from this collection. They’re so inexpensive and beautiful!
I was unsure whether or not to talk about this lipstick because it’s a limited edition one but then I wouldn’t be mentioning my favourite red lipsticks now wouldn’t I? It’s another lipstick from Mac and it’s from the Vibe Tribe collection. I have the shade ‘Painted Sunset’. This, unlike the other lipsticks mentioned above, doesn’t have a matte finish but an amplified one so it’s creamy and has a sheen to it. This lipstick smells so nice, too! (P.s., I know that mine is a bit… Damaged! I think it’s because it’s very creamy)
The next to lip products I’ll be talking about are lip glosses. The first one is from NYX Cosmetics and is one of their butter glosses ($5). I have the shade ‘Cherry Pie‘ and is basically a classic red. The site’s description for the formula is this : “Buttery soft and silky smooth, our decadent Butter Gloss is now available in 12 more sumptuous shades! Each glossy color delivers sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky, leaving your lips soft, supple and kissable.” I definitely agree with this and love the formula so much! They’re really pigmented. I also love the smell of these! Definitely try them out if you’re into glosses! They’re so inexpensive, you can’t go wrong. I also love their Intense Butter lip glosses but don’t have any red shades so that’s why I didn’t mention any!
The last product I have to talk about is Tanya Burr’s lip gloss (€7.67, however now there’s a sale on the Feel Unique site and they are €4.54 instead!) in the shade ‘Let’s Travel the World.’ First of all, I’d like to talk about the packaging. It’s STUNNING! Even though Tanya’s products are from the drugstore and aren’t expensive, they look so pretty! I love the gold on the top and the little heart on it too! Also, her applicator is different to your standard lip gloss applicators but I love it nonetheless- I find it really comfortable. This shade shows up as a bright red on my lips however when swatched, it looks quite orange! I find it to be less pigmented than the NYX one and shinier, but nonetheless a gorgeous shade!
